- Development and plan of promotional materials for the consultation and contract for design (18 months before consultation)
- Site considerations (2 years before consultation)
- Liaison between COMMA and location
- Logistics with putting on a consultation
- Housing contract
- Site Contract
- Shuttle coordination
- Musician contract
- Catering contract
- Book vendor
- Registration
- Hiring student help if needed
- Notebooks and papers for the consultation
- Printing
- Travel to consultation, run registration and logistics
- Develop on-line registration and manage it
Special Projects
- Contracts with outside locations (e.g. training or retreat)
- Oversee payment of outside vendors (F&LI writes the checks)
- Special training events at outside locations
Travel Arrangements
- Booking flights and arrangements, and payments
Development of Presentations
- Can include finalizing teaching materials and presentations for director. Includes development of PowerPoints, brochures, and materials available for director to take with him.
- Develop on-line registration and manage it
Total hours per week: The COMMA consultation is every two years, 2017, 2019, etc. and the year of the consultation will demand more time from the support staff.
- 6-10 hours a week, since the need for support staff ebbs and flows based upon the events.
- 20-40 hours per week at the end of summer and fall
Consultation Time Table:
- December, year before, a contract needs to be signed with the host site
- January, year of consultation, brochures need to be finalized and printed
- Spring, publicity needs to be in place and registration begins
- Summer, logistics coordinated with site
- Fall registration, and all pre-consultation procedures finished
- Onsite registration and logistics coordination
- Post-consultation evaluation and final payments
Requirements:
- Knowledge of event planning
- Budgeting
- Use of Microsoft office products, PDF, Wufoo, Survey Monkey, and others
- Organized
- Friendly and outgoing
Paid Position: $15 an hour

– to strategically facilitate and equip local ministries in their witness to Muslims through learning from each other;
– to strategically motivate, educate and equip North American Christians and agencies in North America to reach out to their Muslim neighbors;
– to monitor the Muslim agenda for North America and provide a voice concerning it;
– to promote cooperation in the development of materials and programs.
