Contrary to the God of Christianity, Muslims believe that Allah is not JUST a singular being but also a singular person
Following the previous episode, Sam Shamoun and Al Fadi continue to discuss the implications of the Spirit of Allah and Jesus (Isa) being shown within the Quran as eternal as well as evidence of a pre-existence of the Spirit and the Word. A common refutation made by Muslims is that Jesus (Isa) was created BY his word and thus Jesus is similar to Adam rather than to Allah as referenced in Surah 3 Ayat 59.
If this is to be the criteria for being the Word of Allah, then couldn’t Adam also be the word of God? Couldn’t all creation that came into being be the Word of Allah? The fact remains that nowhere in the Quran is anyone called the Word of Allah except Jesus (Isa).
But more to the point, Sam shows us Surah 3 Ayat 7 that says that there are verses that are precise and verses that are unspecific but Allah knows their true meaning.
So if only Allah knows what it means for Jesus (Isa) to be the word of God, how can a Muslim tell us what it means?
