Top Five Recommendations from The Lausanne Movement – North America:
- Missions:
Denominational leaders to re-think the geography of missions to include the fast-growing Muslim Diaspora found within our borders. Mission agencies and denominations should consider releasing funds, support, resources, and networks for these workers. - Education:
Islam is here to stay and many churches will have Muslim seekers attending services. Therefore, seminaries and Bible schools need to integrate reaching Muslims into all curricula. - Believers from Muslim Background (BMB):
BMBs have natural contacts with their own community and family. There needs to be better equipping BMBs in Muslim ministry. - Student Ministry:
Over 50% of Muslims are between the age of 18-30. The largest percentage of Muslims comes to the USA for education. Therefore, there needs to be a greater focus and more intentionality among student ministries to reach Muslim students. - National Church:
Most of the evangelism among Muslims will be through the church laity. Therefore, there needs to be church-based training structures.
